Central Valley native Jon Stone has been named the hitting coach for the Modesto Nuts for the 2012 baseball season. Stone had spent the last three seasons with the Casper Ghosts.
The Colorado Rockies named their 2011 Minor League Award winners and Team MVPs, including Kent Matthes, who was the California League's Most Valuable Player and Modesto's MVP.
2011 has turned out to be quite the year for Jerry Weinstein with all of his accomplishments, now he will become a coach for the Colorado Rockies.
The Nuts will soon have a new face to put to the winning ways of the farm team to the Colorado Rockies, while the rest of the Nuts Coaching Staff will stay the same.
The Nuts were named the California League's Organization of the Year and general manager Mike Gorrasi was named the league's Executive of the Year, both for the second straight year.
